SOLD. In 1962, a Morgan was entered into one of the world’s toughest races, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Plus 4 SuperSport, driven by Christopher Lawrence and Richard Shepherd-Baron, was not the most powerful or highly developed car on the grid, but after more than 2,255 miles of racing – at an average speed of more than 93mph – it took the chequered flag at the top of its 2.0-litre class. It’s an achievement that has gone down in Morgan history as one of the company’s greatest.
